Dotted around Bajawa are several traditional villages which are home to the Ngada people. The religion of the Ngada is a fusion of Christianity and older animistic beliefs. Wooden and thatch structures called ngadhu are erected in their villages. These symbolise the presence of ancestors. This little boy looks down from the weavings at Bena village.
